About MCS Melinda's Computer Services

MCS Melinda's Computer Services is a small home based business located in the heart of beautiful downtown Corona, California.  Melinda has lived in Corona with her family since 1983.

Melinda, received a degree in Computer Information Systems  in 2001. She began her career as an intern for a company in Ontario, California. At this time, Melinda was going to school full time and working as a Help Desk Analyst.

As a Help Desk Analyst , Melinda's job responsibilities were:
  • First Level support for users.
  • Keeping current all MIS Departmental Documentation including information  regarding department shipping receiving logs, FAQ’s database and system specific procedural information
  • Supported applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Exchange (e-mail), Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, QuarkXPress and applications written in Progress and Visual Basic programming languages

A year later, Melinda received her second promotion to System Administrator. Her job responsibilities were:

  • Managed and maintained records for third party company running 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support for users

  • Had oversight of records for company IT inventory and supplies

  • Participated in major projects involving both hardware and software aspects of IT Technology by utilizing Microsoft Project 2003

  • Maintained and managed network devices, Citrix Servers, Exchange 5.5 Server, print and file servers

  • Partnered with Vendors specializing in Telecommunications Systems

  • Maintained Winterminals and Neoware located in various offices throughout the United States and Canada

  •  Responsible for effectively troubleshooting remote user problems via phone

  •  Sustained remote connectivity for traveling users

  • Hired, trained and supervised new Help Desk Analysts

In 2006, Melinda moved on to another company in the role of IT Consultant. Here she was responsible for multiple small businesses ranging from a Veterinary Hospital, Real Estate Offices, Engineering offices to Consulting Companies. Some of her job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for determining and meeting IT requirements for multiple, diverse small businesses

  • Services ranged from desktop support to server and networking support

  • Contributed to the management of hosted services such as Spam filtering, Hosted E-mail and Web services
